Welcome!  I am Carrie Macioce, the founder and principal designer of Hill House Design.  My designs pull from my life experiences, from my childhood growing up at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Va. to my extensive consumer products design and branding career.  A sense of adventure and an appreciation of other cultures have always inspired me and led to many trips abroad. The beauty of European architecture and the quaint country side lifestyle have always influenced my design style, while the South Pacific plays into my relaxed and more modern sensibilities. 

 

In 2014 I started the blog Abode №.9, named after our last house number and inspired by the street signs of Paris, to document the renovations my husband and I were doing on our first home together.  My career took an unexpected turn in 2018 and I welcomed the opportunity to turn my home design career aspirations into reality.  Since then I have staged over 200+ homes for sale, tackled three complete home renovations, worked on numerous design projects and consultations.  After years refining my skills and design aesthetic I launched Hill House Design in 2022.

 

I am skilled at evaluating a client's home and developing thoughtfully curated designs that reflect a client's ideal space.  My mission is to guide clients through a transparent design process where they feel confident with decisions made at every stage.  I nurture a collaborative environment where clients not only receive a beautiful space, but also have a fun and valuable design experience that can truly be enjoyed.  I live in the Baltimore Metro area with my husband and our three young children.
