After 2 months of work our 2nd bedroom renovation is done (except for a few decor things)!! Adding the new closet totally changed the room and removing the wall paper and painting the walls made the room feel so much brighter and inviting! We are both very happy with all the changes and details we added to make the room feel this way and are actually excited to have guests now, instead of being a little embarrassed of the accommodations we had to offer. Here is the view when you first walk in the room.
Big difference from where we started!
And here’s the money shot, not a bad spot to put your head after a long trip!
I’d like to get another piece of furniture for this side of the bed to put pictures or knickknacks on. I also really lucked out in that I didn’t need to buy a lot of accessories for the room, I had the picture from when I lived in Boston 8+ years ago and the glass vases from our wedding. I also had these in mind when I was thinking about décor for the room so I’m glad they fit in nicely!
Here are the drapes and new light again.
And here is the wall opposite the bed. I’d like to chalk paint the dresser in a white color, maybe get some new knobs, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I’d also like to get some pictures on the wall above the chair and mirror area, its looking a little stark and I think it would make it visually more interesting and finish off the space.
Time for a close up for the chair that was my color inspiration for the room! After seeing it in place Mace likes it too (at first he was a little unsure) and thinks that people will totally enjoy having a spot to sit down or put their bags!
And now for the last wall, the one with the new closet. I’d like to get a small bookcase to go under the scarf hooks (a new addition to my collection) as I think that will be a little more inviting and homey when you first walk in. All in all I think this room turned out pretty damn good!!
