When my niece saw the master closet her first response was “where are Mace’s shoes?”… Well she had a point since he does have more than the 2 slots I gave him. And since the hallway looked soooo much better without the whole house fan gone my next project was to take on updating the hallway. Here’s a flash back to what it looked like when we moved in.

First up was getting rid of the closet doors and taking everything out of the closet (there weren’t many repairs needed but a few spots needed to be hit).

Next up I had to paint the ceiling and all the trim (scuffing it up first so the paint sticks better). Just painting the trim made such a difference! You can also see at the end of the hallway the patch from the house fan switch in the last post.

The inside of the closet, the air duct, and the attic access panel all needed fresh paint and what a difference it made! We also updated the light switch.

After the walls were painted (Chocolate Froth by BEHR, which I thought was a great neutral and is still bright in the small hallway) we put the closet back together. The original plan was to get an organizer for the closet but I decided against it to save some money. It worked out better without the organizer because its easier to store taller items in this closet. And now Mace’s shoes have a home!! One day we’ll get a door on their but it works for now!

And here’s the finished hallway (6 days after I started) and what a major improvement!! The mirrors are great for reflecting light in the small space and make it feel more finished.
