Jumping to some recent events, last weekend my family made a trip to Deep Creek Lake to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary!! Well their anniversary was officially in June but its been a busy summer for everyone (we had to find time in their golfing schedule) so going in August worked better! We usually don’t make a big fuss over birthday’s and anniversary’s but my sister and I decided it was time to make our parents feel a little special and surprised them with the trip! Everyone had a nice, relaxing, long weekend just hanging out and enjoying some cocktails on the porch and being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. We all enjoyed hiking in the state park and seeing Maryland’s highest waterfall (which is not behind us).
I helped my nieces put on a dancing, singing, and gymnastics show for everyone (this was the grand finale).
Did some geo-cashing for the kids which unexpectedly turned into a 3-mile hike up hill, in flip-flops and cowboy boots no less!
And my parents got to feel some love and appreciation for all the hard, thankless years of doing the toughest job in the world, being parents! I think they did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself! THANK YOU!!!
