The previous owner had a rug in the dining room and the rug pad must have gotten hot enough over the years that it melted a little because there was a huge 8 X 10 gummy residue stuck to the dining room floor.
So after 6 hours, a bottle of Goo-Gone, and some elbow grease we had a much better looking floor. I also removed the café curtain/window tier and the hardware to open up the room and let more light in (especially with no neighbors behind us).
There were big changes coming for this room (aside from updated outlets and clean floors) but it was certainly feeling more comfortable.
