Finished Slider!!

14 days after window demo day, framing, insulation and dry wall, and patching the floor we finally had the slider we’d been dreaming of!!  We were tired, pushed to the absolute max of our deadline, and beyond thrilled with how it turned out!

It let’s so much more light in than the original window and without a doubt is more energy efficient.  It gives the room a much more updated look and feel.

Here’s the original window and room as a reminder of where we started.

Dining Room Window before

And here’s the room after we put it back together with the updated chairs.  No kidding there were tarps, tools, and paint laying around the room only 18 hours (aka we went to bed around 12:30 on a week night) before we had people over.  Right now we don’t want to add drapes around it (the original drapes weighed down the space in my opinion) but who knows maybe when we open the dining room to the kitchen we’ll change our minds.  Focusing on getting something built outside the door to no where was our top priority at this point!!

Oh and we added some wall accessories I’ve had for a while to the far wall along the way.  This room was coming together but I still had one big project left on the agenda (besides getting a new ceiling fan!) that I had slowly been picking away at.
