Hall Bathroom Update

So while the guys were busy outside with the deck, I was tackling my own project inside.  Our hallway bathroom was in need of some attention and while a big reno is still a few years away we wanted to make it a bit more inviting.  The bathroom was def a conversation piece when people saw it the first time!  Here’s a reminder of what we were working with.

First up was getting rid of the grab bars and filling in the holes of the tile with some caulk.  Once the caulk dried I took a razor blade and cut a circle the best I could.  It’s not perfect but it will all be coming out some day.

Next my mom and I got to work stripping the wall paper.  Much like when we removed wall paper from the dining room and kitchen it came off pretty easy and in sheets.  Then we had to remove all the glue from the walls, not a hard task but one that just takes time.  3 down, only 1 more room with wall paper left!!

We knew some wall repair would be needed in the bathroom but we weren’t expecting to find this when we took down the mirror.  Guess they didn’t feel like patching in the old medicine cabinet when they decided to get a bigger mirror!  I was voting for leaving it as-is since we were going to be putting the mirror back up but Mace really wanted to patch everything so his to-do list got a little longer.  The goal was to get the deck and bathroom done by our deck party, which we were hoping to have in Sept at this point.  Now what was I going to do about those pink tiles…
