Shades of Grey

Once the living room trim paint and wall repair was done it was time to get some color on the walls!  I decided to use grey on the walls, which is a pretty popular color right now, but there are tons of undertones that it comes in and I needed some help picking the right one so I enlisted the help of my boys!

Turns out I needed a few more options to choose from! Many of them had bluish/purple undertones (which I didn’t want) and I was looking for a more true grey.  The one I went with you can see around the door trim (its Sherwin Williams Light French Grey less 60%, I had more fun playing and customizing paint colors like in the kitchen).

So while our dining room was torn up with the slider project our living room looked like this while I had my paint brush out. Gotta love living in renovations!!

Here’s a shot of the back wall which is paneling (and per our orig plan we want to replace with built-in cabinets) and you can see I also started on the fire place update.

I also ran into an issue with one of the walls where an oil of some sort showed through the new paint color. You can kind of see it in the below pic (left) and where I had to prime it after the fact (right).  Nothing like running low on paint and having to repaint a section of the wall!!
